火垂るの墓、いつみても涙がこみ上げてくる。
時代考証などが一部おかしいが(7000円であれだけの物しか変えない等)
不器用で時代に流された二人の話だ。

最近、何かとお騒がせする薬、
メタンフェタミン。製品名ヒロポン、俗称シャブ、冷たいのとも言われ、
日本で発明され、世界最悪の薬ともいわれる。
火垂るの墓とは全く関係ないが、
旧日本軍は特攻隊などに戦意高揚のためメタンフェタミンを使っていた。

メタンフェタミンは覚醒剤にカテゴリーされ、
集中力が強くなり、持続する。
大麻は逆だ。

コカインやヘロインなどよりも強い、正に世界最悪の薬だ

2000年代まで、アメリカ空軍は、似た構造の薬、
デキストロアンフェタミン(go-pillsと呼ばれた)を、全てのパイロットへ使っていた。

哨戒活動、空母の離発着、これらのために有用だというのだ。
(それだけ空母の離発着は難しい)
近年はモダフィニルに変わり、若干症状が軽減された。
しかし、投薬の停止は軍の戦闘力を弱めるとして反対している。

パイロットは作戦終了後、ゾルピデム(マイスリー)を投薬される。
